Not a message that's fun to get from a loved one....

"With no bad luck between now and the morning, we will sail at first light for the Galapagos. The distance is 890 nautical Miles, or a little over 900 regular miles. We anticiapate the passage taking 7-10 days, and we will e-mail you upon arrival.

The boat owner discovered she does have a satellite phone, but so far we haven´t gotten it to work. Not terribly surprising given all the other issues. The engines, generator, and electronics appear to all be working, as do the navigation lights and electric navigation system. The basic navigation instrument, the main compass, is tweeked beyond use. We will us our small boy scout sized ones instead."
(Emphasis added)

Light your candles, say your prayers, and cross your fingers for the next week, please.
